Trail Rides

Plan Your Visit

Woodside is only a 30-45 minute drive from San Francisco, or a 30-minute drive from San Jose. Woodside is timeless in its natural beauty, unspoiled environment and unique pioneer culture. When you visit Huddart or Wunderlich Parks, your day can also include a stop at many of Woodside’s attractions and eateries:

Alice's Restaurant

Unique, casual and very family friendly, this is a wonderful wayside spot located on Skyline Boulevard in the redwoods above Woodside. Alice's menu has something for everyone, but they are famous for their extensive burger selection named for different motorcycles. A great place to relax and eat while sitting at picnic tables on the sunny deck.

Buck’s Restaurant

When artist and former builder Jamis MacNiven opened Buck’s, his pancake-plus restaurant in Woodside some 20 years ago, little did he know that he would become one of Silicon Valley’s most iconic figures, calling heads of state, tech titans, celebrities and customers his friends. From cowboy hat light fixtures to anaconda skins, Buck’s has the most unusual collection of memorabilia a restaurant can house. Food is eclectic, with large portions, and something for everyone.

The Little Store

This landmark “down-home” restaurant, also located on Woodside Road, is a carefully preserved establishment that has been a working restaurant since the logging days of Woodside. A perfect place to bring the family, this “one-room” gem has a warm ambiance, nourishing food and even a place to tie up your horse, if that is your preferred mode of transportation!

The Mountain House

The Mountain House offers an original fusion of California and American cuisine in a ridge top mountain cabin nestled amidst giant redwood trees, just minutes from I-280, the mid-Peninsula, and the Half Moon Bay coast. Diners enjoy generous servings of fresh coastal seafood, steak, pasta, venison and other game specials, followed by delicious homemade desserts.

Woodside Bakery and Cafe

Located in downtown Woodside, “the Bakery,” as locals call it, is a great place to start your morning with a fresh cappuccino and a home-made pastry from the bakery kitchens. They also have lots of delicious cookies for the kids, a large variety of freshly made breads to take home, and a full restaurant open throughout the day and evening.

The Woodside Store

This carefully restored general store dates back to the lumber industry in Woodside. As the lumbermen brought the felled redwoods down from the Santa Cruz Mountains, this “Tripp” store was their rest-stop for groceries, blacksmith services, and even dentist care! The County of San Mateo had the foresight to preserve this important piece of Woodside history. Remember to call for details on hours open.

The Village Pub

A fine dining establishment, this beloved Woodside landmark brings destination dining to Silicon Valley. The Village Pub is rich with a sense of heritage and authenticity. The warm and elegant ambiance is the perfect backdrop for Chef Dmitry Elperin's Contemporary American cuisine with Classic French roots.
