About Us
The Friends of Huddart and Wunderlich Parks is a group of park enthusiasts and stewards who provide a wide range of programs and events in two historic redwood parks in the heart of the Bay Area. The Friends of Huddart and Wunderlich Parks organization was founded in 1992 and became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 2002.
Our Mission
Our mission is to promote the positive health and community benefits provided by these parks and to support equitable and inclusive access for all park users. We lead hikes, provide environmental education, showcase local history and celebrate the unique horse heritage of San Mateo County.

It is easy to become part of the Friends community. Start by visiting the parks, where you will discover the fascinating natural and historical treasures of these unique areas of San Mateo County. Then find out how you can volunteer or donate to the ongoing efforts that help make these parks flourish for all who visit.
Our Staff
Kym Teppo, Executive Director
A native Coloradan, Kym grew up with a passion for outdoor spaces and connecting people with nature. Kym received her B.A. in Political Science and later became a lawyer, certified naturalist, and interpretive guide. Kym wears many hats working for a small non-profit from recruiting and training volunteers to managing social media and running special events. Kym oversees the Huddart Park Nature Hike program, the Carriage Room Museum at Wunderlich Park, and the Folger Stable Speaker Series. The best part of her job is working with the 40 volunteers who work tirelessly to protect and promote the natural and cultural resources of our special parks. When not at work, Kym enjoys backpacking and hiking with her husband, two kids and dog.
