Friends docents lead nature hikes for kindergarten through fifth grade schoolchildren in Huddart Park and special outings for groups at Wunderlich Park. The groups wind through the range of our local ecosystems; chaparral, redwood forest, mixed forest, and riparian.

Introduce kids to horses in a safe and approachable horsemanship lesson! You will be introduced to a miniature horse and learn how to groom and walk him.

Private or group tours of the Folger Estate Stable and the Historic District are available free of charge. The circa 1905 Folger Stable, located in Wunderlich Park, is an architectural and historic treasure.

The original Carriage Room within the main stable has been transformed into a magnificent museum that showcases our local history, including the lumbering, farming, and “Great Estates” eras.

Interactive history-social science third and fourth grade field trips are led by San Mateo County Historical Association site managers, with assistance from Friends of Huddart and Wunderlich Parks docents, during the school year at the Folger Estate Stable Historic District.
