Description

This hike is designed for families with children five years of age and older and is not suitable for jogging strollers. We will connect the Chickadee and Redwood nature trails for a distance of about 2 miles. Along the way, we be on the look out for banana slugs and turret spider nests, giant redwood trees and woodrat nests and rattlesnake grass. This is a great hike to learn about the basics of the mixed redwood forest. This hike starts at the parking lot just beyond the entrance kiosk at 2pm and will take about 2 hours. The hike is about 2 miles. There is a $6 parking fee.

Hikes are hosted by the Friends of Huddart & Wunderlich Parks and led by naturalist outdoorsman Tom Davids and other expert docents. RSVPs are not necessary – email tom@tomdavids.com to join hike notification mailing list. Hikes are rain or shine unless very inclement weather.
